I recently read an interesting article in a French magazine Chasse-Marée, about a recently-renovated cod fishing boat. It was purchased a few years ago and has been renovated since, by French private investors and French communities, as it is the last representative of this important time in French marine history.
This 90-year boat which used to fish for cod in Newfoundland waters is magnificent and it taught me how large and gorgeous those fishing boats were. I had no idea, and you might not know it as well: that’s why I wanted to share my discovery here.
