Odyssey Marine Exploration, a company specialized in deep-sea exploration has started to recover more than 13,500 gold and silver coins, from the SS Central America shipwreck, which sank 160 miles off the coast of South Carolina, on September 12, 1857, during a hurricane.
The ship was carrying 425 passengers along with tons of gold from California. It was first discovered in 1988, at a depth of 7,200 feet.
